Tom Joiner & Associates, Inc. (TJA) is a geological and engineering consulting firm located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The firm was founded by Tom Joiner (now retired) in 1981 with Bob Wood, P.G. and C.E.O., and Ken Hanby, petroleum engineer and President. Joe Patrick, P.E., P.G. and Vice President, joined TJA in 1990 as an environmental engineer. The TJA staff comprises individuals from a wide range of scientific disciplines and experience including geology, hydrology, petroleum engineering, environmental engineering, and civil engineering.

Our firm’s roots are tied to the oil and gas industry and the development of mineral resources, and in 1989, TJA made a commitment to offer a range of environmental services for our clients including environmental, regulatory permitting, soil and groundwater assessments and remediation, as well as Clean Air Act permitting and compliance in the 1990s.
